The Plainwell Arts Council was formed in 1985 with a small group of local artists and arts supporters who desired to create a way for visual artists in the community to display their work.
The group sponsored a series of fine art fairs in the beginning, then moved to the (since closed) Aries Cafe, where the Council began showcasing local, regional, national & international artists ~ a series of exhibits that were well recieved.
